It seems to me that it  has become easier to overlook or downsize what an athelte has done.

Michael Vick was not an innocent backer to the dog fights he promoted.  He took part in the actual killing, drowning and

electrocution of "undesirable" dogs and puppies.  Is this what we want our children to look up to??  I know that some people will say that he did his time, but really, 18 months??  It has taken that long for places like Dogtown to reabilitate most of these poor animals.  Has prison reabilitated Mr. Vick?

If he was truly sorry, how about giving some of the millions he is about to earn and give it to the foundations that kept his dogs alive & reabilitated??  Just saying your sorry doesn't cut it.  I am truly sorry that he is back in football and even sorrier that he only got 18 months!!
